Nazila Ahmadi

Her work spans film, theatre, and performance art, with a strong focus on women's rights, social justice, and the intersection of personal identity and political struggle. Nazila's films and performances have been screened internationally, in prestigious festivals such as the Women Life Freedom Film Festival and DMZ Docs Fund, earning recognition for their powerful storytelling and their exploration of the challenges faced by marginalised communities, particularly Afghan refugees and Iranian women.

With an extensive background in both acting and directing, Nazila has worked on notable projects such as “The Last Birthday,” “Tara,” and “Kochakshi”, a documentary addressing the plight of Afghan refugees in Iran. Her performances, such as “Zan. Zendegi. Azadi. Woman, Life, Freedom” in Italy, have gained significant attention, shedding light on women's empowerment and political struggles in the region.

In addition to her film and theatre career, Nazila is an advocate for social change, dedicating herself to teaching young women filmmaking through Women’s Voices Now and documenting the struggles of refugees as a journalist. Her passion for storytelling and creative expression continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
